Outstanding hospitality

We have just returned from a very special week staying at Le Moulin. Peter and Carolynn understand hospitality implicitly. Whilst the trip is all inclusive, their generosity overflows (rather like the red wine during our evening meals) Their attention to detail in every area revealed a love of people, hosting and serving to ensure a stress free holiday. From the detailed maps and instructions for our chosen activity, Excellently maintained and comfortable touring bikes, taxi transfer to and from the station, to a replenished hospitality tray every day, bed made and bathroom refreshed and a wonderful home cooked meal every night, freshly bought bread and croissants for breakfast, homemade jams and yoghurts, a packed lunch to keep us going (food and wine were an important part especially as I didn’t have to think about it!) gorgeous heated pool, no traffic noise, clear skies and excellent conversation we cannot rate this place highly enough . Thank you.

Delicious food, wine that flowed, great accommodation, perfect hosts

We stayed here in June, the walks that Peter has devised are really good, you can choose the short or the longer ones. Neither are too taxing. Food prepared by Carolynn is superb, all French cooking and Peter supplied a different wine from the region each night. We had a great room, on the ground floor was the bathroom and sitting area, up on a mezanine floor was our huge bed. There was a pool for after walks which was well used. One couple like cycling and were all over the district on their hired bikes with maps provided. One highlight would have to be the Wednesday picnic, where er all walked separately at our own pace to a destination by the lake where a picnic lunch was set up ready. Certainly can recommend to anyone that likes walking, and even if you don't yu could still enjoy being looked after by the most thoughtful hosts.

Cycling holiday

Le Moulin du Chemin is a lovely old converted mill. Lovely grounds with a nice swimming pool. Accomodation is spotless and the rooms are very comfortable. At night the place is so quiet all you hear are the sounds of the wildlife!

Peter and Carolyn were superb hosts. All meals were absolutely superb and sitting around with the rest of the guests was good fun, hearing everyone's adventures that day. Peters cycle routes were very easy to follow and the roads were so quiet and well maintained. Lots of ice wines consumed with a superb cheeseboard.

The area around Scille is very quiet so be prepared to take extra snacks with you ( P&C give you a packed lunch as there are no cafes etc around on the cycle routes)
All in in all a lovely place to stay.

Getting away from it all in the French countryside

Carolyn and Peter are perfect hosts of Le Moulin du Chemin. They made us feel like part of the family. Such attention to detail providing maps and instructions for long or short walks (or cycles) taking in different areas of the surrounding countryside. Food was fantastic and the picnic on Wednesday and BBQ on the last night were extra special bringing everyone together.

Weather during the week was sunny and perfect for walking. The pool was there to cool off at the end of the day.

Accommodation was very spacious and comfortable.

Would thoroughly recommend a stay here if you are looking to get away from the hectic day to day life and get in touch with nature and the peaceful life in the heart of the countryside.

Very special week

We have just returned from a splendid 6 day holiday with a group of 10 friends who call themselves the Cyclopedios

A giveaway since we are all cyclists and walkers and what a splendid week it was. there is no doubt that Carolynn and Peter have over the years crafted a near perfect package and although it is not cheap , value for money it is. No one could have spent so much time and effort in setting up a special cycle routes for every day or planning such a huge variety of very detailed walks through the local countryside and insuring that the guests are catered for their every need

But even if we had not known one another the care and attention which are our hosts put in to making sure that everyone is happy and well fed and is in full possession of every possible piece of information which they might need is impressive. The meals from the most satisfying breakfast, fulsome packed lunch & ending with an evening of entertaining good food and wine, & plenty of it, would be hard to improve upon . The accommodation is varied and in most cases not overly generous in size for our group the rooms were not the highlight of the holiday, It would also have been nice to be able to relax in a communal lounge but if the weather is hot and sunny then the outside swimming pool and terrace is the best alternative

SO. if you fancy a varied walking or, hard cycling holiday with good bikes supplied as an extra , in a rural setting with great hospitality then Le Moulin du Chemin could be for you , as they say , book early to avoid disappointment.

A total holiday

This is a week of being hosted by Peter and Carolyn in a very quiet and relaxing location. You can ask for little that is not already provided, whether its the different wines to be tasted or the amply stocked free vend drinks fridge available 24/6 if you wish. Whether you are walking or cycling all food is provided and the evening dinner gives a great focus with excellent food at the end of every day. Peter and Carolyn have been doing this for 20 + years and it shows, whether that be food location or the rooms at Le Moulin.

If you are taking the cycling option do take note of the countryside as its continually rolling, not flat like cycling holidays associated with places like the Loire or river following rides. The bikes available are appropriate for the local roads but not the lightest, something to bare in mind when the first thing you do in the morning is climb out of the valley laden with provisions to the last the day. Roads are however very quiet (this was September) with one day counting being passed by just six cars, a compensation for all the climbing.
